Another Year’s Reflections

Today marks the end of the second year I have been writing here, a good time for reflection.

To my surprise, my far most popular article continues to be What is a Teacher? I wonder what my readers want from this article, and if they find it there.

This year’s most popular articles include Exercises in Listening and Teaching as a Colleague which have similar themes of listening well in different applications.

More recently Why do you Teach? gathered attention and discussion, as did Teaching by Speaking Honestly, both of which I use to reflect on self-knowledge and integrity as a pathway to excellent teaching.

For a short time Taking Breaks was popular. I am still impressed at how my work is improved when I take quality breaks and how easily I forget.

My own favorites from this last year include Teaching with a Clear Signal in which I consider teacher credibility and Why Teach if it has already Been Taught? where I attempt to explain how, when we teach, it is is always new material.

Thank you for your readership and for your engaging with me on these topics. I look forward to more.
